Pincher Creek, Alberta is the hometown of current Chief Justice of Canada, Beverley McLachlin. McLachlin is the first woman to hold this position, and the longest serving Chief Justice of Canada in history. The town includes public art in murals and sculpture and includes “Bev McLachlin Drive”. Maybe we’ll see another tribute to Beverley McLachlin in the future? It would be great to see Pincher Creek add a statue or mural of the powerful Chief Justice McLachlin! Right now most of the women portrayed on their murals are traditional roles.
